Bpzide acts by inhibiting the kidneys’ ability to retain water. Thus Bpzide increases urine volume and reduces the volume of the blood, decreasing blood return to the heart and thus cardiac output (CO) and is believed to lower peripheral vascular resistance.

Category: Cardiovascular
Indication: Hypertension and heart failure related symptoms.
Drug Composition: Available as 12.5 mg and 25 mg Hydrochlorothiazide per tablet.
Dosage: O.D. can be titrated to B.D.
Contraindications: Sulphonamide or penicillin allergy.
Precautions: Diabetes, asthma. Gout, Arrhythmia.
