Doctors prescribe Diaset M to take a multipronged approach in controlling blood sugar levels. It contains Metformin in addition to Glimepiride that is very effective in increasing insulin secretion. Refer to your physician to ascertain whether Diaset M is right for you.

Dual Action of Glimepiride & Metformin. Glimepiride is a medium-to-long acting sulfonylurea drug act on 65 kda sulfonyl urea receptor present in pancreatic beta cells. Glimepiride lowers the blood glucose level by stimulating pancreatic beta cells to produce more insulin and by inducing increased activity of intracellular insulin receptors and metformin improves hyperglycemia primarily through its suppression of hepatic glucose production and increases insulin sensitivity thus enhances peripheral glucose uptake and delay the absorption of glucose from the gastrointestinal tract.
