IHD
In order to treat Ischaemic Heart Disease that arise from blockages in coronary arteries, your doctor may prescribe IHD 10/20/30SR/60 SR. This medicine belongs to a class of Nitrate based vasodilators which opens up the small arteries of the heart and is very helpful in reducing the chest pain and other associated symptoms that arise in cardiac diseases.
Isosorbide-5-mononitrate is a vasodilator that relaxes and widens blood vessels allowing more blood flow in the infarct area and reduces the chances of re-infarction. This product comes in two varieties: normal and SR tablets.

Indication:
In all types of angina.
Drug Composition:
Isosorbide-5-mononitrtate.
Dosage:
Plain tablets B.D (7 & 17 hours gap i.e. if first dose at 7 am then next dose at 2 pm and then next dose is at 17 hours gap i.e. at 7 am next day).
SR tablets, IHD 30 mg SR can be given both O.D & B.D whereas IHD 60 mg SR should be given in the morning before breakfast.
Contraindications:
Severe hypotension, cardiac shock, marked anaemia, cerebrovascular insufficiency, cerebral haemorrhage.
Precautions:
Glaucoma. Recent MI. hypothyroidism, hypothermia, malnutrition.
