Diltiazem is a member of the group of drugs known as benzothiazepines, which are a class of calcium channel blockers used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, and some types of arrhythmia.

Indication:
Chronic Stable Angina, Hypertension & Cardiac Arrhythmia.
Drug Composition:
Available as 30 mg and 60 mg Diltiazem per tablet, and 90 mg SR and 120 mg SR Diltiazem per tablet.
Dosage:
Plain tablets T.I.D.
SR tablets B.D.
Contraindications:
Sick sinus syndrome.
Uncontrolled heart failure.
Hypotension.
Marked bradycardia.
Acute myocardial infraction with pulmonary congestion.
Precautions:
Reduced left ventricular function.
Measure heart rate regularly in the elderly or those with mild bradycardia.
Long term use.
