Beta
Normally our heart beats 72 times per minute to maintain our blood pressure (BP). If the heart is not functioning correctly an increase in heart rate may result in the rise of BP. In such cases your physician may prescribe you Beta, which contains a drug known as Atenolol that reduces the heart rate and helps in reducing BP.
Atenolol is a β1 receptor blocker. Atenolol works by slowing down the heart rate (HR) and reducing its workload. It does not pass through the blood-brain barrier thus avoiding various CNS side effects.
